What is 'the disco'?
The Disco is the new home of LGBTQIA+ and Queer Dance Parties in Newcastle, NSW. Partnering with Newcastle's LEADING venues to bring never before seen parties, immersive experiences and celebration of queer culture. You can expect regular headliners, out of this world - Pop, House and Tech beats, and dancefloors that transport you to a place you can truly be free. The Disco perfectly complements the existing Queer events in Newcastle, and together are shaping an incredible calendar of events, all year round. You can expect dance parties, tea dances, stage shows and special events - complemented by unique community activations.
THE TEAM
Mason Andrews (he/they)
Mason Andrews is a highly accomplished executive leader and solopreneur and is a strong advocate for underrepresented gender minorities / LGBTQIA+ Folks and is passionate about social justice, equity, and change.
Alongside his professional achievements, he has over a decade of experience as a successful artist, International DJ, and event producer. Mason has also made significant contributions to the community, serving on the board of The Pinnacle Foundation and the Committee for LGBTQIA+ Health Reform.
Mason has spun to crowds of over 8,000 at Sydney Mardi Gras, Sydney world pride, as well as international spots across South East Asia, New Zealand and New Caledonia, Malaysia and more.
Mason brings his extensive executive leadership, commercial success, and artistic experience to ensure the success of THE DISCO, and any event he curates and executes.
TIMOthy Jackson (he/him) - Timberlina (she/her)
A natural performer, larger than life, she never fails to surprise and delight!
Originally hailing from Wiradjuri Country in Central West NSW, Timberlina is a proud First Nation Queen, a move to the ‘big city’ in her formative years saw Timberlina dabbled in all things dance and drama.
After short hiatus from the limelight, Timberlina was re-born in spectacular style and glittery glory in early 2017, and continues to be an ever-evolving chameleon of the performance and hosting world.
Timberlina’s over-the-top style and dazzling repertoire, coupled with her naughty quick wit, will keep you fabulously entertained for hours.
Timberlina was crowned Miss Photogenic in Miss First Nation Supreme Queen 2023 and Miss Congeniality in the Miss First Nation 2018.
Newcastle’s leading lady, Timberlina is best known for her sell out weekly drag bingo shows and involvement with events such as Timberlina’s Drag Off, Blush, Knockers & Moles, Divas on the Green & Diner en Blanc.
Timberlina (Timothy) is also an accomplished event curator, promoter and entrepreneur as owner of Timber Productions and brings this experience to THE DISCO
